Scoring
Even pages only. 0 out, 2 · 4 · 6 runs, 8 is a no-ball.
How it was always played. You open a book at random and read the page number. The last digit is the ball.
  • Classic reads the left-hand page, which in a real book is always even: 0 is out, 2, 4 and 6 are runs, and 8 is a no-ball — one run, and bowl it again.
  • Mod six reads any page and takes the last digit modulo six: 0 is out, and 1 to 5 are runs.
Ten wickets an innings. Win the toss and you choose whether to bat or chase. There is no skill in the page — there never was. The decision is the toss, and the tension is the chase.
